Fascial Stretch Therapy in Toronto
It’s time to stop making that sound when you get up off the couch with FST™
Fascial Stretch Therapy (FST) is all about releasing tension so you can move freely
When the connective tissue in our body, called fascia (pronounced FASH-uh), is tight, it can compress muscles, causing you pain.
Just like a massage, FST™ will have you feeling relaxed and free in your body.

Joint Care
Increased range of joint mobility¹, because you have the right to live your life to the fullest

Nervous System Regulation
Shift from a fight-or-flight nervous system into rest-and-digest activation

Targeted Relief
Every treatment is adjusted to your body, so you can be sure you will find ease where you need it most

What to expect from a session with Vera
Each session begins with “how is your body feeling?” where we can discuss what stiffness and tightness are lingering in your body. Once you’re on the table, we go through a movement assessment, followed by targeted traction, oscillation, and resisted stretches to safely release restrictions in the fascial system and restore joint freedom.
Sessions are performed in a comfortable, clothed environment and are always tailored to your specific goals. Depending on the session, you will be lying on the table for the full time, or partially, with the remaining time doing standing movements with the support of the practitioner.
You’ll never be contorted in odd and uncomfortable ways or feel pain in a treatment session. The movements in these sessions are designed specifically to target the fascial lines in your body that do so much to hold us together, and give them a chance to breathe so you can move smoothly.

I had a great FST session with Vera. It is fascinating learning about all the muscles, nerves and how they are all connected and the ways they react when there is an injury. Vera did an amazing job at communicating with each step, helping me through it and helping me relax and breathe. I never felt rushed when I was slow to reposition or when needed to adjust the position. Thank you!!

Vera was thorough in asking about what my problem areas were, what my job/lifestyle was like impact-wise on my body, and was very educational about what was being worked on while they stretched me. My favourite was getting my lower back and hips stretched out, and I slept so well that night I almost slept through my alarm the next morning, haha. Thank you Vera! Cannot wait to do this again.

Frequently Asked Questions
How should I prepare for my session?
Please arrive at least 5 minutes before the session is to begin to check in if you are a new client. While most of the session is lying on a massage table, this is still movement, and we ask you to arrive hydrated and to take off any jewellery before the session begins.
What should I wear?
Demin or leather is a no for FST™, but otherwise, please wear whatever you feel comfortable moving in! Consider what you would wear for a movement class from The Garden, and you can feel confident knowing it would be a great choice for your fascial stretch therapy session.
How is Fascial Stretch Therapy different from other assisted stretch services?
Fascial Stretch Therapy focuses on the connective tissue system and joint mechanics, versus just your muscle tissue in one singular direction. FST™ intertwines assessments with movement, so each treatment session is tailored specifically to the individual’s current needs.
I would like Vera to come to my home for an appointment. Is there an extra fee?
In-home appointments can be arranged, and there is a travel fee per kilometre for travel within the GTA. For an in-home appointment, a minimum space of 11 x 11 feet must be available. Contact Vera if you have any questions or want to book an in-home session.
How often should someone go in for FST™?
Even though you brush your teeth every day, you still go to the dentist to make sure everything is good. FST is the same, and frequency will depend on the person and their body. On average, it is recommended to go into a session 2-3 times within the first month so the body can acclimate to the movements and graduate to a maintenance stage that varies for the individual.
Can I use my insurance benefits on Fascial Stretch Therapy?
Vera’s FST™ practice is only covered under certain Health Spending Accounts or Employee-Sponsored Wellness Accounts that also cover personal training or group fitness classes. Please contact your insurance provider if you are unsure or have questions.
What is the weight limit of your table?
The massage table used has a weight limit of 750 lbs.
What is the cost of this service?
A 60-minute Fascial Stretch Therapy is $130 + HST. Packages are available for 5 or 8 60-minute Fascial Stretch Therapy sessions, valid for 10 months from purchase. A $30 deposit is required when booking, and this fee comes off the total amount.
What is the accessibility situation for the Downtown and Pickering locations?
Spectrum Collective: This fitness centre is located a 4-minute walk away from Sherbourne and Gerrard, or a 5-minute walk from the Carleton and Ontario streetcar stop. The space is on the ground level, with a ramp, there is a small step to enter. On-site parking is available.
Pickering: The spa is located at the south end of Liverpool Road, in the Nautical Village. There is a ramp to enter the building. Although the treatment session is held in the basement down a flight of stairs with a landing, we can accommodate offering the treatment in a room on the ground floor when available. Free street parking is available.
It was amazing! Very gentle stretching, but afterwards I could easily bend all the way down and lift my legs higher than I have in years! And Vera is a kind and lovely person, funny and easy to talk to I highly recommend! I will be telling all my friends that also have chronic pain.

I had never done fascial stretch therapy before and Vera was really wonderful at listening to me and my body during this new experience. I am really looking forward to my next session with them!
